Venice is the capital of Veneto Region. It is located in the marshy Venetian Lagoon which stretches along the shoreline. Venice is renowned for its picturesque beauty and its art and architecture. The complete city is listed under the World Heritage Site. The city is criss crossed with canals, which gives a unique experience to the tourists. If you want to get around a bit more quickly, there are numerous vaporetti (water buses) and water taxis.

 

What to see in City of Venice?

 

So if you are planning to get to Venice, or if you are planning a quick trip, getting to Venice would be a great idea. Here are some quick time, that would come handy;

 

Pamazzo Ducale: A palace where you can see where the city’s administration is worked, as well as Casanova’s jail and has a wonderful 500 year old roof structure

 

(Campanile di San Marco): It is a replica of the original clock tower which collapsed in 1912 and offers a scintillating view of the city and the lagoon

 

Clock Tower (Torre Dell’Orologio): It is a brilliant piece of work, which has now been restored after many years, where you will see an astronomical clock. A guided tour is suggested

 

Scuola grande di San Rocco : This guild house, which is a masterpiece by Tintoretto depicts overwhelming Manierist art at its best

 

Jewish Ghetto of Venice:  If you want to sense the unique Venetian atmosphere you can take part in an itinerary covering the Jewish Ghetto and the Rialto area to discover the crucible of races, cultures and religions that have co-existed for centuries in Venice and admire a different side of this city

 

Rialto & Rialto Bridge: The Rialto market of divine for the shoppers. Shopping here is slightly cheaper here than in the tourist-filled Piazza San Marco. The Rialto Bridge has become one of Venice's most recognizable icons and has a history that spans over 800 years

 

Zattere: It is a long and sunny walk along the Giudecca canal.  You might find interesting to see how a gondola is made, stopping by the Squero (Venetian for small ship yard) across the canal near San Trovaso Church

 

Museums: The must visit place in the city of Venice are the museums. The ones you must visit are- Correr Museum, Teatro La Fenice, Museo Ebracio, Mocenigo palace, The Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Ca’Pesaro, Galleria dell'Accademia di Venezia, Palazzo Grassi, Carlo Goldoni's House, Glass Museum
